PRAVEX BANK, part of the leading European financial Intesa Sanpaolo Group, has appointed a new CEO, Semen Babaiev, who officially assumed his duties on January 1, 2026.
The appointment follows a decision by the Bank's Supervisory Board and the completion of the approval process by the National Bank of Ukraine.
The new CEO’s career path reflects over 20 years of experience within PRAVEX BANK. Semen Babaiev joined the team in January 2003 as an economist in the Branch Management Department and subsequently progressed through a range of managerial roles — from Branch Manager to Deputy Chairman of the Management Board.
He has held senior responsibilities in the development of Treasury and Cash Management, where he gained extensive experience in liquidity and financial flow management. In recent years, Mr. Babaiev headed the Retail Business, and immediately prior to his new appointment, he served as the Head of the Main Business Division.
His academic background includes expertise is a degree in Economics (VTEI KNTEU) and a Pre-MBA in Business Analysis from the MIM Business School.
As head of the Bank, Semen Babaiev will oversee the continued implementation of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group’s strategic goals in Ukraine. The priority remains strengthening the Bank’s position as a universal bank providing services for both corporate and individual clients.
Mr. Babaiev’s appointment follows the scheduled end of Gianluca Corrias’s term, having served as CEO since 2023. The PRAVEX BANK team and the Supervisory Board express their appreciation to Mr. Corrias for his leadership, significant contribution to the Bank’s stability, and the implementation of strategic initiatives during his tenure.
